USA Basketball -- Named Mike Thibault head coach and John Pariseau and Sharm Scheuerman assistant coaches for the U.S. Pan American Games men's team.

NCAA -- Named ACC commissioner Gene Corrigan president.

American Football Coaches Association -- Voted the following coaches of the year: Jim Tressel, Youngstown State, NCAA I-AA; Bobby Wallace, University of North Alabama, College I (NCAA Division II and NAIA); and Pete Schmidt, Albion College, College II (NCAA Div. III and NAIA Div. II).

Alabama-Birmingham -- Named Robert Henry assistant head football coach.

Ball State -- Announced that AD Don Purvis will not be reappointed.

Morehead -- Named Jeff Durden offensive coordinator.

Nebraska -- Announced that QB Scott Frost had transferred from Stanford. He will sit out next year and then have two years of eligibility.

Old Dominion -- Announced that women's soccer coach Linda Hamilton has resigned to train for the 1996 U.S. Olympic team.

Webster -- Named Thomas Hart AD.

Whitworth -- Named John Tully football coach.

Jacksonville Jaguars -- Named John Pease defensive line coach.

New York Jets -- Named Zeke Bratkowski offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach; Jim Vechiarella defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, Bill Muir offensive line coach, Richard Wood wide receiver and tight ends coach, Peter Giunta defensive backs coach and Jim Williams strength coach.

Seattle Seahawks -- Named Dennis Erickson coach.

Hockey

Edmonton Oilers -- Recalled F Todd Marchant, F David Oliver, F Roman Oksiuta, F Tyler Wright, F Peter White and D Ian Herbers from AHL Cape Breton. Recalled F Ryan Smyth from WHL Moose Jaw.
