Dowling, Schneck shoot Mids to 65-35 win over Lafayette

Becky Dowling scored 20 points and Adi Schneck added 15, leading Navy to a 65-35 victory over Lafayette in a Patriot League game last night in Annapolis.

Navy (5-8, 1-1) led 39-13 at halftime as Dowling and Schneck each scored 12. Navy shot 14-for-27 from the field and Lafayette was 6-for-20. Dowling led all players with seven rebounds.

Kate Wells added 14 points for Navy. Dana Gould led Lafayette with 11 points and five rebounds.

* Notre Dame 85, Gallaudet 53: Jennifer Chaney scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, leading visiting College of Notre Dame (4-5) past Gallaudet (2-7). Tammy Valentic scored 14 points and Tina Houck (Westminster) had 12 for Notre Dame, which had a 46-22 halftime lead.

Nana Southerland led all scorers with 22 points and had nine rebounds for Gallaudet, and Sheri Bradley added 13.

* Marymount 93, Salisbury State 73: Jessica Turgon scored 32 points to lead host Marymount (6-4, 1-1) to a Capital Athletic Conference victory over Salisbury State (6-4, 3-1).

Amy Fenzel led the Sea Gulls with 19 points. Kim Roth added 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The Sea Gulls led at the half 38-37.

* Frostburg State 78, LaRoche 72: Freshman Kara Reed scored a career-high 29 points and handed out seven assists as Frostburg State (7-3) defeated visiting LaRoche (0-12).

Shelly Ridgeway contributed 18 points, six assists and three steals for the Bobcats.

Darla Capello scored 20 points to lead LaRoche.
