NCAA -- Named ACC commissioner Gene Corrigan president.

American Football Coaches Association -- Board of trustees called on Congress to hold hearings on the fairness of Title IX policy interpretation concerning intercollegiate sports for women. Rules committee unanimously recommended that the NCAA rules committee allow football teams to declare jersey colors for home games. General membership voted Nebraska's Tom Osborne NCAA Division I-A Coach of the Year.

Akron -- Named Jim Meyer, Joe Palmisano and Tom Stacy assistant football coaches.

Colorado -- Announced that junior DT Shannon Clavelle has applied for the NFL draft.

Indiana -- Announced that freshman G Rob Hodgson, who is being redshirted, has decided to transfer.

Navy -- Announced that Dan Hicks was named Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Wrestler of the Week.

Phoenix College -- Named Stump Mitchell football coach.

Vanderbilt -- Named former Washington Redskin Jeff Rutledge quarterback coach.

Green Bay Packers -- Announced the resignation of secondary coach Dick Jauron to become defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacksonville Jaguars -- Signed K Scott Sisson, LB Reggie Clark, CB Frank Robinson and OT Ron Collins. Named Jerry Palmieri strength and conditioning coach. Named Paul Lankford director of player programs.

Seattle Seahawks -- Agreed to a two-year contract with offensive line coach Howard Mudd.

San Francisco Spiders (IHL) -- Named Jean Perron coach; he formerly coached the Montreal Canadiens.
