2. Hammond (6-2) -- Last week's ranking: 2. Tiki Nicholson scored 15 and Rene Hines added 14 as the Golden Bears defeated Centennial, 45-28, Thursday. Hammond raced to a 15-1 lead after one quarter. Next game: Tomorrow vs. No. 14 Howard.

3. Lake Clifton (5-1) -- Last week's ranking: 3. DaShawn Coleman scored 24 and Natisha Ferguson contributed 20 in the Lakers' 85-22 rout of Walbrook on Friday. Next game: Today at Southwestern.

4. St. Frances (10-3) -- Last week's ranking: 4. The Panthers avoided upset bids by Archbishop Spalding and the Institute of Notre Dame by beating the Cavaliers, 55-45, Wednesday, and the Indians, 49-42, Friday. Saturday, St. Frances lost to Archbishop Carroll (Pa.), ranked No. 1 in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 48-42. Next game: Tomorrow at Mercy.

5. Fallston (7-1) -- Last week's ranking: 6. The Cougars rolled to easy victories over Harford Tech, 68-11, Wednesday, and Aberdeen, 82-21, Thursday. Next game: Today vs. C. Milton Wright.

6. Old Mill (7-2) -- Last week's ranking: 7. The Patriots defeated North County, 54-35, Tuesday, and Glen Burnie, 60-37, Friday. Tinnell Slade scored a combined 21 points in the two games. Next game: Today at Meade.

7. Severna Park (8-1) -- Last week's ranking: 8. Angela DeSalvo scored 33 as the Falcons routed Meade, 64-32, Tuesday. Friday, Jennifer Holmes scored 19 and DeSalvo added 13 in a 55-28 victory over Southern-AA. Next game: Today vs. South River.

8. St. Mary's (9-5) -- Last week's ranking: 5. The Saints were stunned by unranked Institute of Notre Dame, 60-50, Wednesday. St. Mary's rebounded with a 62-44 win over Archbishop Spalding Friday. All-Metro forward Annetta Davis did not play in either game due to illness, Saints coach Harry Dobson said. Next game: Tomorrow vs. No. 10 Seton Keough.

9. South Carroll (9-1) -- Last week's ranking: 9. The Cavaliers rallied for two victories last week. South Carroll overcame a five-point deficit after three quarters to edge Linganore, 63-61, Wednesday. The Cavaliers came back from an 18-3 first-quarter deficit to beat Thomas Johnson, 53-49, Saturday. Next game: Today at Damascus.

10. Seton Keough (10-1) -- Last week's ranking: 10. Meghann Donovan scored a combined 32 points as the Gators defeated John Carroll, 49-26, Wednesday, and Mercy, 59-28, Friday. Next game: Tomorrow at No. 8 St. Mary's.

13. Westminster (8-0) -- Last week's ranking: 13. The Owls built a nine-point lead after one quarter and held on for a 56-54 victory over Howard on Wednesday. Next game: Tomorrow at Montgomery Blair.

14. Howard (5-3) -- Last week's ranking: 14. Despite 25 points from Mona Jackson, the Lions were edged by Westminster, 56-54, Wednesday. Next game: Tomorrow at No. 2 Hammond.
