Hopkins falls short, 77-59 STATE MEN

Kevin Folkl scored 17 points and added eight rebounds to lead Washington University of St. Louis (9-2) to a 77-59 victory over host Johns Hopkins (1-8) in men's basketball last night.

Matt Gorman led the Blue Jays with 12 points in his first game since suffering a knee injury in November.

* Mercyhurst 89, Bowie State 78: Will Stinson scored 28 to lead Mercyhurst (5-9) over Bowie State (4-8) in the consolation game of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Tournament.

Marquis Melton scored 20 points for the Bulldogs.
