Gannon rallies in second half to edge Bowie

Bronze Simpson scored 22 points and James Clark added 19 and 10 rebounds to lift Gannon College (10-2) past visiting Bowie State, 85-84, in a men's college basketball game last night.

Bowie State led 40-35 at halftime, shooting 15 for 29 from the field. Gannon was 14-for-26 in the first half and 16-for-26 in the second half. The Bulldogs shot 16-for-40 in the final 20 minutes.

Warren Wright (Northwestern) led Bowie State (4-7) with 20 points.

* Anne Arundel CC 113, Cecil CC 78: Sylvester Clarke scored a game-high 24 points and had 13 rebounds and Aderio Jones (Annapolis) added 22, leading Anne Arundel Community College past visiting Cecil Community College (1-6).

Tony Curro (Severna Park) had 19 points and eight assists. Geoff Morrison scored 20 to lead Cecil.

* Baltimore CCC 97, Catonsville CC 88: Warren Wright (Mervo) scored 24 points and Dennis Mack added 23, leading Baltimore City Community College (7-2) past visiting Catonsville Community College (7-5).

Harry Brunson (Woodlawn) led Catonsville with 19 points and Nathaniel Harris (Walbrook) had 16.

* Essex CC 97, Harford CC 79: Walter Wright scored 31 and added six assists as Essex Communitty College (10-3) defeated host Harford Community College (0-9). Dominque Minor (City) had 25 points and nine rebounds for Essex.


* Camden (N.J.) CC 67, Essex CC 45: Kristen Przynhkle scored 17 and Katie Byrnes and Gayle Befeo each added 12, leading Camden (N.J.) (5-4) past host Essex Community College (1-3). Tina Lotz led Essex with 20.
