January 04, 1995

County police arrested a Pasadena man Friday night and charged him with robbing a gasoline station on Mountain Road, authorities said.

A man walked into Ed's Shell, in the 100 block of Mountain Road, about 10 p.m. and bought a soda. When the clerk rang up the sale and opened the cash register, the man shoved her aside and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The man ran from the station and headed east on Mountain Road, where he was caught a few moments later by Officer Richard Colmus of the Northern District, who was on routine patrol, police said.

Michael Angelo Preston, 26, of the 7700 block of Outing Ave., was charged with robbery, police said.
