Delores G. Amedori, a homemaker who made her Reisterstown home a sanctuary for birds and stray cats, died Wednesday of a heart attack at her vacation home in Ocean City. She was 68.

Delores G. Amedori, a homemaker who made her Reisterstown home a sanctuary for birds and stray cats, died Wednesday of a heart attack at her vacation home in Ocean City. She was 68.
At the time of her death, she had a dozen birdhouses on a tree outside her home, according to a daughter, Carmen Amedori of Westminster.
"Animals flocked to her," Ms. Amedori said. "Her home was a sanctuary for birds and stray cats."
The former Delores Perry was born and reared in East Baltimore. In 1941, she married Carmine M. Amedori, who survives her.
During World War II, she was an aircraft assembler for the Glenn L. Martin Co. After the war, she worked as an assistant buyer for Hecht Co. stores on Howard Street downtown and in Northwood Plaza, leaving in 1960 to be a full-time homemaker.
A son, John Patrick Amedori, died in 1980.
Services were set for 10 a.m. today at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marie Amedori of Pikesville and Carol Ann Long of Ocean Pines; a son, Joseph Amedori of Ocean City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
George M. Yurick
Westinghouse planner
George Michael Yurick, a Westinghouse Electric Corp. planner, died Wednesday of a heart attack at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The Towson resident was 57.
He was a senior logistics planner with the Air Force Avionics Division of Westinghouse in Hunt Valley. He joined the company in 1968 after leaving the 175th Tactical Fighter Group of the Maryland Air National Guard, which he had joined in 1956.
An avid hunter, Mr. Yurick was a member of Ducks Unlimited, a wetlands preservation group.
He was born in Baltimore in 1937, the only child of George and Mamie Yurick. The family lived briefly in Fort Riley, Kan., in the late 1940s when his father was stationed there with the Army. The family then moved to Towson, and Mr. Yurick graduated from Towson High School in 1955.
He also graduated from the University of Maryland College Park and earned a master's degree in science administration from George Washington University in 1974.
A Mass of Christian burial was to be offered at 10 a.m. today at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 8501 Loch Raven Blvd., Bainesville.
Mr. Yurick is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Kennedy, whom he married in 1964.
