Goucher routs Johns Hopkins

David Clark (Catonsville) scored 20 points and Predrag Durkovic added 14, leading visiting Goucher past Johns Hopkins, 76-57, in a men's college basketball game last night.

Goucher (2-2) led 39-30 at halftime as Clark scored 13 points. The Blue Jays (1-3) held Goucher scoreless for just over six minutes, pulling to 50-42 but couldn't rally.

Greg Rochrig led Johns Hopkins with 18 points, 16 in the first half. Wes Unseld (Loyola) contributed 11 points and eight rebounds.

* St. Mary's 73, Wesley 68: Michael Lind scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds as visiting St. Mary's (2-1) defeated Wesley (1-3).

The Seahawks led by as much as 15 points in the second half, but Wesley came back to within one late in the game. Fred Johnson, who contributed 16 points, made six of six free throws for the Seahawks.

* Muhlenberg 86, Western Maryland 66: Michael Rooney scored 17 points to lead four Muhlenberg (4-0, 1-0) players in double figures in the Centennial Conference win over Western Maryland (2-2, 1-1).

Rooney, who also had a game-high five assists, was supported by Ernie Koschineg with 15 points. Teammates Chris Bedell and Mike Gramer add 13 and 12, respectively. The Mules out-rebounded Western Maryland 41-30.

Green Terror forward Daveiid St. Rose (Patapsco) led all scorers with 21 points. Senior guard Pat Young (Mount St. Joseph) added 19 for Western Maryland, which used a 17-4 run to close to 57-55 before the Mules pulled away.
