Severna Park Chamber elects 1995 officers

The Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce recently elected officers and directors for 1995.

Elizabeth Butler of the Gardiner Group is the new president; Pat Coulter of the Capital-Gazette is first vice president; Barbara Baumgartner of Side Street Framers is second vice president; Jim Curtis of E. L. Bert & Co. is treasurer; and Cheryl Schmidt of Chesapeake Academy is the new secretary.

The 1995 board of directors will include Dr. Carl Rogge of Severna Park Veterinary Hospital; Grace Johnson of Travel Unlimited; Jean Zemo of Teerttotter Ltd; and George Moran of George T. Moran Inc.

The 1994 president, Penny S. Hopkins, will serve as the 1995 chairman of the board.

The new officers will be installed in January.

County executive night set by chamber

The Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Meet the New County Executive Night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Michael's Eighth Avenue, Glen Burnie.

The cost is $20 with reservations by today, and $22 at the door.

Chamber is selling discount books

The Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is selling Entertainment Books -- booklets filled with discount coupons -- as a 1995 fund-raiser.

Chamber to sponsor event on advertising

The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a luncheon on "Advertising for Today's Consumers" from noon to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Jasper's Restaurant, 1651 Route 3, Crofton.

Rusty Owens and Toni Adams from the Crofton News-Crier will lead the discussion. The cost is $18 for members and $22 for nonmembers. Information: 721-9131.

Sass & Associates moves to new location

Annapolis' Sass & Associates recently moved to a new location at 201 Forbes St. in Annapolis.

The 7,500-square-foot building was customized to meet the advertising firm's needs. It includes areas for strategic planning, and departments for marketing, media, and public relations.

New offices include an in-house film/video editing suite.

WIN, which began in 1991, was co-founded by Sass and has members from Europe, Mexico and Britain.

Workshop to discuss starting a business

SCORE Chapter No. 390 and the Annapolis Chamber of Commerce will conduct a workshop on "How to Start and Manage Your Own Business" from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Heritage Office Complex, Riva Road, Annapolis.

The workshop will cover the seven key steps of starting a business.

Reception planned for legislators, staff

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a reception for legislators and their assistants from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fort Meade Golf Club, Mapes Road, Fort Meade.

Congressional representatives in Districts 1, 3 and 5; state delegates and senators from Districts 32 and 33; and the District 4 county councilman have been invited.

The cost is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

Networking breakfast at the Chart House

The Greater Annapolis Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its monthly "Business Contacts" networking breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. tomorrow at the Chart House restaurant in Annapolis.
