Mr. Suchman had no fixed address, authorities said.

Man seeking a ride is beaten and robbed

A man who county police said has no fixed address was beaten and robbed of a small amount of money Saturday morning as he tried to hitch a ride on Ritchie Highway near Shellye Road, authorities said.

Earl Leroy Moore, 33, was taken to North Arundel Hospital for a minor injury to his knee, police said. He left without being seen, a spokeswoman at the hospital said.

Two men in a white Ford Mustang drove up to him about 1:30 a.m. and demanded his money. They took the money after beating him and drove off, northbound, on Ritchie Highway, police said.

The victim give police only a partial identification of the car's tag and a few details about the suspects, authorities said.

Brochure to detail pediatric services

North Arundel Hospital will mail a free brochure, "Pediatric Services," to area residents on request.

The brochure details new pediatric services offered by the hospital, such as on-site pediatricians, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In early December, the hospital will open Nighttime Pediatrics North, at 8125 Ritchie Highway. The center will provide urgent care for pediatric cases.
