Nearly $30,000 raised for hospital

HOWARD COUNTY HEALTH NOTES

November 29, 1994

The professional staff at Howard General Hospital raised nearly $30,000 for the 223-bed hospital at its 15th annual dinner-dance Nov. 5.

More than 500 persons attended the fund-raiser. Proceeds from the black-tie gala, which was held at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor in Baltimore, will benefit the hospital's emergency department.

The theme of the affair was "Encore! Dancing Among the Stars," and featured entertainment by Le Masquerade, a song-and-dance troupe performing music and dance from decades past.

Benefactors of the dinner-dance were Dr. John C. Payne and the Pain Care Team, gold sponsors; and Diagnostic Radiology Associates, silver sponsor.

Dr. Melvin S. Rapelyuea, former chairman of the Department of Radiology at Howard County General Hospital, served as chairman of the 1994 dinner-dance committee.
