Mount St. Mary's drops opener

COLLEGE PARK, Pa. -- Penn State went on a 23-0 roll as Mount St. Mary's was missing 14 consecutive shots last night and the Nittany Lions defeated The Mount, 90-60, in their regular-season opener.

The Mount (0-1) held a 5-2 lead early in the first half before Penn State (1-0) went on its scoring binge.

Riley Inge led Mount St. Mary's with 14 points; Randy Edney grabbed 11 rebounds.

Glenn Sekunda had 22 points and seven rebounds for Penn State in his first game since transferring from Syracuse.

The Mount plays again at 7 p.m. Tuesday, hosting Towson State in Knott Arena.
