* BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Someone stole jewelry worth $3,500 from a home in the 600 block of N. Kenwood Ave. on Wednesday. The burglar climbed up to a second-floor porch and unscrewed a door knob to a rear bedroom to gain entry to the house.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Eastern District -- Someone broke a Plexiglas window on the north side of a Signet Bank branch in the 2000 block of Harford Road on Wednesday. Nothing was taken.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone stole two video cassette recorders, a cordless phone and a jar of cash, worth a total of $780, from a home in the 3200 block of Tyndale Ave. on Wednesday. The burglar entered the house through a basement window.

* AUTO THEFT: Northeastern -- Someone stole a 1988 Pontiac Grand Am from the 5600 block of Woodlawn Ave. between Wednesday and Thursday. The Maryland license tag is BRK-125.

* ARMED ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A woman walking in the 3400 block of St. Ambrose Ave. on Wednesday night was robbed at gunpoint of her purse. The bag contained $14 and other property, all valued at $57.

* AUTO THEFT: Northwestern District -- A 1990 Burgundy, four-door Dodge was stolen from the 6500 block of Eberle Drive on Wednesday between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Maryland license tag is ZPF-847.

* LARCENY: Western District -- Someone stole $800 from the basement of a home in the 100 block of N. Schroeder St. on Thursday morning.

* ATTEMPTED CAR-JACKING: Western District -- Police arrested 16-year-old for trying to steal a wrecked 1980 Chevrolet in the 1800 block of Baker St. on Wednesday night. The youth got into the car after the owner left to get help, but crashed the car, police said. The youth was sent to the Northern District's juvenile detention facility.

* LARCENY FROM A VEHICLE: Northern District -- Someone stole a brown leather carrying case containing several books, all valued at $40, from a car in the 100 block of W. 26th St. between Wednesday and Thursday.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Northern District -- Someone broke into a residential garage in the 200 block of University Parkway, Wednesday or Thursday and stole a $200 mountain bike.

Baltimore County

* BURGLARY: Wilkens District -- Someone stole of silverware and jewelry worth $9,000 from a home in the first block of Hilltop Place between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning by prying open a rear door.

* ARMED ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A thief wielding a semiautomatic handgun robbed a man of $150 in cash Thursday morning at Security Boulevard and Interstate 695.
