Woman charged with shoplifting

A Baltimore woman was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with shoplifting from a store at Marley Station, police said.

Kimberly Peppler, 22, the manager of Dejaiz, told police the security alarm went off when a woman left the store about 5:30 p.m. Ms. Peppler followed the woman through a hall leading outside the mall, police said.

When Ms. Peppler confronted the suspect, the woman threw several shirts hidden under her jacket at her, pushed her in the chest and ran outside, where she was caught by mall security officers, police said.

Patricia Ellen Winchester, 31, of the 700 block of Bethnal Road, was charged with theft under $300 and assault and battery,

police said.
