BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone stole a television and video cassette recorder, all valued at $459, from a closet in the Waverly Recreation Center in the 800 block of E. 34th St. sometime yesterday morning.

AUTO THEFT: Southwestern District -- A 1992 gray Dodge Spirit was stolen from the 100 block of N. Rock Glen Road yesterday between 5 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

AUTO THEFT: Southwestern District -- A 1978 Ford station wagon was stolen from the 1100 block of N. Woodington Road about 1 p.m. yesterday.

SHOPLIFTING: Northeastern District -- A 24-year-old man was caught taking three cases of baby formula worth $88.92 in a baby carriage from the Valu Food Supermarket in the 4200 block of Frankford Ave. yesterday.

ASSAULT AND ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Four men assaulted and attempted to rob three teen-age boys yesterday at 10 a.m. on the grounds of Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical Senior High School in the 3500 block of Hillen Road.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- A young male is suspected in the theft of $10,400 worth of checks made out to St. Francis of Assisi School and $1,600 in U.S. currency from the school's rectory in the 3600 block of Harford Road. The theft occurred Sunday between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
