Two men arrested after drug raid

Narcotics detectives raided an apartment in the 7400 block of Furnace Branch Road Tuesday night and arrested two county men on drug charges, police said.

Kevin Carter Alston, 24, who lives in the apartment, was charged with distribution of cocaine. William Clayton Mills, 27, of the 1100 block of Dorsey Road, was charged with possession of cocaine, police said.

Detectives reported seizing drug paraphernalia and $230 from the apartment during the 8:30 p.m. raid. A quarter-ounce of suspected crack cocaine was found on Mr. Alston, police said.

Police said undercover officers had bought drugs at the apartment during their investigation.

Man accused of trying to steal drugs at Kmart

A Baltimore man was arrested Tuesday afternoon and accused of trying to steal nearly $200 worth of over-the-counter drugs from a Kmart store in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway, authorities said.

A store security officer reported seeing a man take several boxes of Anacin, Tylenol and Advil from the shelves and put them inside his jacket shortly after 5:30 p.m. The man then walked to an exit, where the security officer stopped him and held him until police arrived.

Ronald Jerome Young, 41, of the 2600 block of Kent St., was charged with theft under $300, police said.
