Man says 2 robbed home after locking him in bath

November 15, 1994

Two men forced their way into a Severn home Friday morning, ransacked the place and stole $2,500 that had been hidden inside a vacuum cleaner in a hall closet, county police said.

Joseph Farrior, 19, was at home when he heard a knock at the door about 11:45 a.m. When he opened the door, two men barged inside and one of them pulled out a silver revolver, police said. The robbers locked Mr. Farrior in a basement bathroom before searching the home, police said. After the men left, Mr. Farrior pushed open the bathroom door.

Police were not notified of the crime until two other people who live in the house came home about 4:30 p.m. and discovered the money was missing, police said.

Victim has no money, so robber takes pager

A Glen Burnie man was robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening as he used a pay phone outside a Severn food store, police said.

Shawn Monroe Hamilton, 21, was outside the Pioneer Food Mart in the 1100 block of Reece Road when a man walked up to him shortly after 6 p.m., police said. Mr. Hamilton told police the man pulled out a small-caliber automatic handgun, pointed it at him and said, "Give me everything you got."

Mr. Hamilton told the man he didn't have any money. The gunman then took Mr. Hamilton's $50 First Page pager and ran toward Deerfield Drive.
