BALTIMORE CITY

* STABBING: Central District -- A 21-year-old man who had been waiting for a bus about 3 a.m. yesterday in the 300 block of Greene St. was chased and stabbed in the back by one of two young men who had asked the victim for a cigarette. The victim was in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Central District -- A 34-year-old woman told police she threw her purse containing $100 worth of property at a man who pointed a short-bladed knife and said something unintelligible to her about 3:15 p.m. yesterday in the 500 block of St. Paul St.

* ROBBERY: Central District -- A man with a handgun and wearing a black mask robbed another man of a gold necklace and an unknown amount of cash at 3:45 a.m. Saturday in the first block of N. Howard St.

* ROBBERY/ARREST: Central District -- An unidentified man was arrested after allegedly pointing a knife at another man and taking $40 in the 200 block of W. Chase St. early yesterday.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Two men assaulted a 36-year-old woman at 1:15 a.m. yesterday in the 900 block of S. Kenwood Ave. and took her purse, which contained $30. The woman suffered a bloody nose. The robbers fled in a U-Haul truck.

* BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Burglars stole tools and a bicycle, with a total value $1,100, between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. yesterday from a home in the 3700 block of Claremont Ave.

* SHOOTING: Southeastern District -- A 15-year-old boy reported that he was shot at 5:30 a.m. yesterday when two thugs tried to rob his 18-year-old friend. The shooting victim was in stable condition.

* ASSAULT: Eastern District -- An 18-year-old woman told police that a man grabbed her around the neck and pointed a gun at her face, threatening to kill her about 12:15 a.m. yesterday in the 1000 block of Valley St. The victim said she broke free and escaped.

* ROBBERY/ARRESTS: Eastern District -- A 42-year-old woman reported that two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed her of $10 about 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of N. Washington St. Police arrested two suspects, and recovered a BB gun from one of them.

* ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A 39-year-old woman told police that her 36-year-old boyfriend threatened her with a knife about 10:30 a.m. yesterday at their home in the 3300 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Police said the woman fled, unhurt.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A 31-year-old Baltimore woman told police that two men, one implying he had a handgun, robbed her of $30 about 10:45 a.m. yesterday in the 4900 block of Nelson Ave.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* BURGLARY: Towson Precinct -- The owners of a tool supply company reported that someone broke into their business in the 700 block of York Road early Saturday and removed tools worth $900, police said.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Cockeysville Precinct -- The owners of Peerce's Plantation restaurant in the 12000 block of Dulaney Valley Road reported that between 1:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday, someone broke in by cutting a hole in the roof. It was not known last night what, if anything, was taken.

* BURGLARY: Parkville Precinct -- A resident of the first block of Begonia Court told police that someone broke into their home about 6:30 a.m. Saturday and removed a chess set, cordless phone and video recorder worth about $460.

* GRAND THEFT: Woodlawn Precinct -- Police were searching for a thief who stole a full-length mink coat from a dry cleaner in the 800 block of Ingleside Ave. The coat, valued at $16,999 was reported stolen at 10:47 a.m. yesterday.

* DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Woodlawn Precinct -- A plate glass window at Video Wonderland in the 6600 block of Baltimore National Pike was broken when someone threw a brick through it at 4 a.m. Saturday. Damage was estimated at $500.

* THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Woodlawn Precinct -- Electronic equipment valued at $1,900 was reported stolen at 8:30 a.m Saturday from a van in a hotel parking lot in the 1700 block of Belmont Ave.
