Home prices rose 0.5% in South Atlantic region

Home prices rose 0.5 percent in the South Atlantic region in the third quarter, about half the national average, according to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Three regions showed decreases. On the West Coast, prices were down 0.7 percent; New England, down 0.4 percent; and Middle Atlantic (New York, New Jersey and New York), down 0.2 percent.

The national average price increase was 0.9 percent.
