BALTIMORE CITY

* ROBBERY TRY/SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 900 block of N. Calvert St. was in the 290 block of Allendale Road Thursday when two men, one with a handgun, attempted to rob him. During the incident, the victim was shot in the leg and arm. The victim was treated at Sinai Hospital.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 3000 block of Essex Road of her purse, jewelry and a coat, all valued at more than $800, in the 5500 block of Park Heights Ave. Thursday.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who robbed a resident of the 3700 block of Sylvan Drive of his wallet and $50 in the 5600 block of Park Heights Ave. Thursday.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A telephone valued at $20 was stolen from a house in the 2500 block of N. Charles St. Wednesday by someone who entered after breaking a bathroom window.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 4000 block of Roland Ave. Thursday and stole a VCR and a compact disc player, all valued at more than $500.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1991 Dodge Spirit with tags 935 AWA was stolen Thursday from the 5500 block of Spaulding Ave.

* THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- A man was arrested after he entered a house in the 4900 block of Greenspring Ave. Thursday and attempted to steal two VCRs, a radio and jewelry.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 16-yer-old resident of the 3800 block of Rolandview Ave. was in the 2600 block of Shirley Ave. Thursday when a gunman robbed him of a gold necklace, charm bracelet, and a jacket, all valued at more than $300.

* STOLEN CAR: Southwestern District -- A 1989 Ford Bronco with Pennsylvania tags AMA 7547 was stolen Thursday fom the 2800 block of Presstman St.

* THEFT: Southwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who stole $20 worth of clothing from the G.C. Murphy store in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. Thursday.

* ASSAULT & ROBBERY: Western District -- A security officer at the Mondawmin Mall was attacked by several youths while on duty Thursday and robbed of his nightstick. During the assault, the officer was struck several times, sustaining injuries to his shoulders and head.

* BURGLARY/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man who entered Aero Motors in the 1000 block of W. Baltimore St. Thursday and stole an antique sewing machine.

* THEFT: Western District -- Someone stole the battery, valued at $75, from a car parked in the 2000 block of Warwick Ave. Thursday.

* BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at $700 was stolen from an apartment in the 1100 block of N. Carey St. Thursday.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 900 block of N. Stricker St. was about to enter his home Thursday when a gunman approached him from the rear and robbed him of more than $200.

* STOLEN CAR: Western District -- A 1984 Nissan with temporary tags 87519 was stolen from the Mondawmin Mall Thursday.

* THEFT: Western District -- A cordless telephone valued at $100 and the property of a rental firm was stolen from a house in the 1400 block of N. Fulton Ave. Thursday.

* THEFT: Western District -- A purse containing cash and property, all valued at $170, was stolen from inside a house in the 2100 block of Westwood Ave. Thursday.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* ROBBERY: Towson Precinct -- A gunman robbed the Shell station in the 600 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum of money Thursday. After entering the station around 6:30 p.m., the man asked a clerk for a pack of cigarettes. The man then displayed a handgun in his waistband and demanded money before fleeing on foot.

* BURGLARY: Towson Precinct -- Someone entered the Roy Rogers restaurant in the 900 block of Goucher Blvd. Thursday and stole roast beef valued at $100.

* STOLEN CAR: Woodlawn Precinct -- A silver 1985 Jaguar with tags BSF 341 and valued at $8,000 was stolen from the 7200 block of Windsor Mill Road Thursday.

* ROBBERY: Garrison Precinct -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed Barnes' auto center in the 3700 block of Old Court Road of an undisclosed sum of money Thursday. After one man entered the bathroom, his accomplice pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money from the cash register. Both men escaped on foot.

* BURGLARY: Garrison Precinct -- Someone entered Maryland Recycling in the first block of Gwynns Mill Court through a side garage door Thursday and stole $40.

* BURGLARY: Wilkens Precinct -- Someone threw a concrete cinder block through the window of the High's Dairy store in the 3800 block of Hollins Ferry Road Thursday morning, entered the store and stole $500 worth of cigarettes.
