Anne Arundel Health Care Systems, parent company of the Anne Arundel Medical Center, recently named George A. Blair, Jr. as vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Mr. Blair, who has held the position on an interim basis the past year, was formerly director of financial operations.
He now assumes overall financial responsibility for the company and its subsidiaries.
A graduate of Loyola College, with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Mr. Blair has been with the company 10 years.
After his promotion Mr. Blair restructured the company's finance department.
He also promoted Sandra Huffer, formerly company manager of general accounting, to director of financial operations and planning.
Ms. Huffer will assume the responsibility for day-to-day financial operations and planning for the company in addition to retaining her responsibilities for the financial reporting and general accounting for all subsidiaries.
Ms. Huffer is a graduate of the University of Delaware, with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She has been with the company for five years.
Mr. Blair and Ms. Huffer are both certified public accountants.
