Teen at Shock Trauma after car skids into tree

November 10, 1994

A Crofton youth was in serious but stable condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after his car hit a depression in the road and skidded into a tree Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Matthew Adam Taylor, 16, of the 1600 block of Portabello Court, broke both legs and received other injuries, police said. He was trapped in the car and had to be removed by county firefighters. U.S. Park Police flew him by helicopter to Shock Trauma.

He had been driving a 1990 Pontiac Lemans east on Patuxent Road in Odenton when his car hit the depression, bottomed out and went out of control, police said.
