Severn nips Friends in shootout

Carrie Cole and Meghan Bauer each had a goal as Severn outscored Friends, 2-1, in the shootout after a 2-2 tie through regulation and two overtimes, to win an Association of Independent Schools A Division quarterfinal yesterday.

Bauer also had a goal during regulation, and Jill Stursa had 13 saves for the Admirals.

* Roland Park 2, Park 1: Hedy Born scored the winning goal in the final five minutes as No. 9 Roland Park (10-2-2) defeated No. 12 Park (8-2-3), in an AIS A Divisionquarterfinal.

Garrison Forest will play host to Roland Park in one A Division semifinal tomorrow at 3:15 p.m., while Severn travels to Bryn Mawr at 3:15 p.m. in the other semifinal.

* Bryn Mawr 1, McDonogh 0, 2OT: Christine Lazatin scored the lone goal in the shootout as No. 14 Bryn Mawr (9-2-2) edged McDonogh in an AIS A Division quarterfinal.

* Garrison Forest 1, Maryvale 0, 2OT: Cantey Boyd and Courtney Austin both scored goals in the shootout as No. 8 Garrison Forest (9-0-3) outscored Maryvale, 2-0, to win an AIS A Division quarterfinal.

* Oldfields 2, Lutheran 1, OT: Brooks Deramus scored the winning goal in overtime as Oldfields (2-8-2) defeated Lutheran in an AIS B Division quarterfinal.

Oldfields travels to Glenelg Country School for a 3:15 p.m. semifinal tomorrow. John Carroll plays host to Seton Keough in the other semifinal at 3:15.
