BALTIMORE CITY

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the first block of Brubar Court of $72 Monday in the 4100 block of Patterson Ave.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 4200 block of Rolandview Ave. was in the 4500 block of Reisterstown Road when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of about $50.

* ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a man who allegedly cut a Checker cabdriver during an attempted robbery Monday in the 4700 block of Wakefield Road. After picking up a passenger at Wolfe and Monument streets, the cabbie was ordered to Garrison Boulevard. There, the passenger told the cabbie to drive him to the 4700 block of Wakefield Road. After arriving there, the passenger brandished a knife and demanded money. The cabbie sprayed the passenger with a chemical irritant and a struggle ensued, during which the cabbie was cut on the head and hands. The passenger fled and was found behind an apartment building at 4703 Wakefield Road and arrested. Charged with assault by cutting and attempted armed robbery is Bobby Lee Pitman, 30, of the 3300 block of Oakfield Ave.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 7300 block of Edenbrook Drive was in the 4000 block of Edgewood St. Monday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of stereo equipment valued at $1,000.

* ROBBERY TRY: Northeastern District -- A man assaulted a woman Monday in the 2800 block of The Alameda and tried to rob her. When the woman cried out, he fled.

* THEFT: Northeastern District -- A full-length coat and cassette tapes, all valued at $500, were stolen from a 1986 Nissan parked Monday in the 2500 block of Kirk Ave.

* STOLEN CAR: Northeastern District -- A 1995 Honda Accord with tags XDA 791 was stolen Monday from the 1600 block of Shadyside Road.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Clothing valued at $500 was stolen Monday from a car parked in the 500 block of Gorsuch Ave.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A four-door 1989 Toyota with tags YLV 063 was stolen Monday from the 5000 block of The Alameda.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of N. Calvert St. was in the 200 block of E. 31st St. Sunday when a man struck him over the head with a broom handle. The assailant and an accomplice then robbed the victim -- a Johns Hopkins University student -- of a backpack containing a wallet, credit cards and money.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A videocassette recorder valued at nearly $170 was stolen Sunday from a house in the 2800 block of W. Garrison Ave. A suspect was being sought.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone removed a basement door from its hinges and stole a television set valued at $500 from a house in the 300 block of W. 27th St. Monday.

* SCHOOL BURGLARY: Northern District -- A computer, printer and $25 were stolen over the weekend from an office at Polytechnic Institute in the 1400 block of W. Cold Spring Lane. The equipment was valued at nearly $3,000.

* ROBBERY/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested three teen-agers and were seeking two others in the robbery Monday of three pagers valued at nearly $300 from the ABC 99-cent variety store in the 3000 block of Greenmount Ave.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Police were expected to issue a warrant charging a 30-year-old woman with stealing two boxes of diapers, valued at nearly $27, from Stop, Shop & Save in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. Monday.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A 35 mm camera, $8 in coins, a flashlight and folding knife, all valued at $340, were stolen over the weekend from a construction trailer parked in the 3900 block of Cottage Ave. Entry was gained with a key.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A purse with $50, credit cards, checkbook and personal items, all valued at $70, was stolen from a 1991 Toyota van parked Monday in the 1000 block of Cloverdale Road.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A bike valued at more than $300 was stolen Sunday from a storage shed in the 300 block of Cable St.

* THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man who stole a 21-speed bike valued at $600 from the 1000 block of W. 36th St. Sunday. The bike was recovered.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A leather jacket and 10 cassette tapes, all valued at more than $400, were stolen Saturday from a 1985 Oldsmobile parked in the 500 block of Venable Ave.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at $30 was stolen over the weekend from the Education and Cultural Center in the 2300 block of N. Howard St.

* ASSULT: Southwestern District -- Police were seeking the operator of a 1984 Ford LTD with tags AYY 176 accused of pointing a shotgun at a resident of the 3300 block of James St. during an argument outside the victim's home Monday and firing a shot into the air.

* ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A 64-year-old resident of the 3600 block of Eversley St. was near her home Monday when she was robbed of $30 by two men, one of whom was armed with a knife.
