Parole store robbed; Annapolis man charged

Moments after an armed gunman robbed a Rite Aid pharmacy at Parole Plaza yesterday, police said they arrested a man in the parking lot of the shopping center and recovered the stolen money.

The robber handed the store's pharmacist a note that said he had a gun and wanted money, a police report said. As the man's description was broadcast moments later, an Annapolis police officer saw the suspect and made the arrest about 12:30 p.m. Police found no weapon.

Jesse Williams, 41, of the 1900 block of Copeland St. in Annapolis, was held pending a bond hearing on a charge of armed robbery, police said.
