High school parents club will sponsor craft show

November is here, and with it comes the countdown to Christmas. What better way to get ready for the holidays than attending the "Beary Krafty" Craft Show, sponsored by the North County High School Parents Club?

The show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the high school, 10 E. 1st Ave. in Ferndale. Browse browse through the many tables of holiday and nonholiday craft items. Afterward, treat yourself to lunch sold by Parents club members.

Belle Grove Elementary School pizza night will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the school. Cheese and pepperoni pizzas will be sold for eat in the cafeteria, and cold pizzas will be available for carry-out. Cheese pizzas cost $4.50 or three for $11, and pepperoni pizzas are $5, or three for $13. Sodas and sweets also will be sold.

Come and enjoy dinner, then stay for fun, games and prizes. Volunteers still are needed. If you would like to help, call 222-6589.

The Brooklyn Park Elementary School art department needs beads, old plastic table cloths and shower curtains, elastic from discarded garments, empty permanent bottles, leather goods, such as old purses and coats, and a working sewing machine. These items can be dropped off at the school during the day.

Burger King Night will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Burger King on Nursery Road. The restaurant donates a portion of its profits to the school. Everyone is invited to have dinner and help support the school.

The next Park Elementary School PTO meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the media center. Plans for future events and fund-raisers are on the agenda.

Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle School students in the Enrichment Program would like to create a history of Brooklyn Park Middle School -- really the old junior-senior high. They are looking for graduates and former teachers in the community who would be willing to help. Call the school at 789-8500 and ask for extension 220 if you're interested

And remember that today is makeup picture day.

The North County High School store will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday during the Parents Club Craft Show. Be sure to stop by and make your holiday purchases.

The fall sports banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at Michael's Eighth Avenue on Dorsey Road.

Tickets will be on sale during all lunch shifts on Thursday, Friday and Monday. The cost is $8 per person.

The Belle Grove Improvement Association monthly meeting begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Belle Grove Elementary School, 4502 Belle Grove Road.

The guest speaker will be Tahira Williams from the county Animal Control Center.

Captain Gary Barr and Sergeant William Rothenbecker, of the county police, also will be present to answer questions about police operations and crime problems in the community.

Also on the agenda of the evening is the election of officers for 1995. Everyone is invited to attend and is asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the holiday baskets.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks is once again offering step training at Belle Grove Elementary School, 4502 Belle Grove Road. Step training is an aerobic program that uses a bench. Classes are offered from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Nov. 14 and continuing for eight weeks.

The cost is $45.50 for the session. Class size is limited, so call 222-7313 now to register. Steps are provided.
