Texas Rangers -- Named ex-Orioles pitching coach Dick Bosman pitching coach and Larry Hardy bullpen coach.

Colorado Rockies -- Agreed to terms with C Jim Tatum on a one-year contract and added him to the 40-man roster. Signed P Jeff Sellers, P David Tellers, P Bruce Walton, IF Frank Bolick, IF Stu Cole, IF Ty Van Burkleo and OF Alan Cockrell to minor-league contracts. Named Mark Wilbert full-time strength and conditioning coordinator.

Charlotte Hornets -- Signed F Joe Courtney.

Golden State Warriors -- Acquired C Rony Seikaly from the Miami Heat for F Billy Owens and the rights to G Predrag Danilovic.

Miami Heat -- Placed G Keith Askins on the injured list. Released F-C Alec Kessler.

New York Knicks -- Announced that F Anthony Bonner will undergo arthroscopic right knee surgery.

Orlando Magic -- Waived C Greg Kite. Placed G Greg Grant (tendinitis in left hamstring) on the injured list.

San Antonio Spurs -- Announced that F Dennis Rodman's suspension for detrimental conduct is for three games.

Colleges

NCAA -- Cleared Michigan State's men's basketball program of any serious wrongdoing and placed no penalties on top of what the university imposed.

SWAC Council of Presidents -- Upheld penalties imposed on Alcorn State's football program last August for conducting out-of-season practices in June.

Goucher College -- Announced that B Chrissy Czajkowski, B Kim Donoghue, F Michele Mohlman and G Dawn Greer were named all-Capital Athletic Conference in field hockey. Announced that F Sarah Weaver and B Sherri Malloy were named all-CAC in women's soccer. Announced that F Percy Moore was named All-CAC in men's soccer.

Hope -- Announced the retirement of football coach Ray Smith, effective at the end of the season.

Missouri Southern -- Announced that sophomore QB Doug Switzer, son of Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer, left the team without notice after being informed that he was being replaced as starter.

Patriot League -- Named Navy F Shawn Moyer (Glen Burnie/North County) Player of the Week.

Salisbury State -- Announced that Jim Berkman was named CAC women's soccer Coach of the Year. Announced that M Vicki Prince, B Mandy Brooks and B Ava Tasker were named to all-CAC in women's soccer. Announced that F Ousman Auber, F Matt Tirschman and B Kirk Chesla were named all-CAC in men's soccer and that Gerry DiBartolo was named CAC men's soccer Coach of the Year. Indianapolis Colts -- Signed TE Charles Arbuckle to a two-year contract. Waived TE Carlos Etheridge. Waived OL Kipp Vickers from the practice squad.
