C.M. Wright advances in shutout

Jamie Gerhart scored two goals and had an assist as No. 13 C. Milton Wright (11-3) defeated host Dundalk (2-7), 7-0, in a 3A-4A North regional quarterfinal girls soccer game yesterday.

Becky Gerhart and Katie Corbett each had two goals.

* Liberty 3, North Carroll 0: Shanna Ziegenfuss scored two goals, leading No. 10 Liberty over visiting North Carroll (5-9) in a 1A-2A West regional quarterfinal game.

* Severna Park 10, Leonardtown 0: Tammy Permenter scored three goals to lead No. 7 Severna Park (12-2-1) past Leonardtown in a 3A-4A South regional quarterfinal contest.

* Broadneck 6, Oxon Hill 0: Jessica Hull and Megan Santacroce each scored two goals, leading Broadneck past visiting Oxon Hill in a 3A-4A West regional quarterfinal.

* Howard 3, Mount Hebron 1: Howard (6-5-2) won its first game of the 3A-4A West Region by defeating Mount Hebron (4-11).

Karen Krupka scored two goals and Sarah Nunnally one for the Lions, which had beaten the Vikings, 5-0, earlier this season.

Boys soccer

* Dundalk 3, Patapsco 0: Joe Lambert scored one goal and added an assist as Dundalk (5-7) defeated Patapsco (8-5) in a 3A North regional semifinal game.

* South River 0, Parkside 0 (South River wins shootout): South River (4-7-2) defeated Parkside (9-2) by outscoring the visitors 4-2 in a shootout in a 2A East regional quarterfinal game.

South River senior Sean Finnelle had 22 saves while Parkside goalie Chris Nelson had 18.

* Howard 3, Mount Hebron 0: Peter Bachman, Chris Dodson and Eric Howard each scored leading Howard (7-5-1) past Mount Hebron (8-5) in a 3A East region quarterfinal game.

Joel Sackett had three saves for Howard.
