Boston Red Sox -- Declined to exercise their $1.2 million option on C Damon Berryhill, who then filed for free agency. Berryhill, who gets a $200,000 buyout, became the 130th and final player to file for free agency this year.

California Angels -- Added Mario Impemba to the radio broadcast team, replacing Billy Sample, whose contract wasn't renewed.

Boston Red Sox -- Declined to exercise their 1995 option on C Damon Berryhill.

Cincinnati Reds -- Purchased the contracts of P Matt Grott, P Terry Bross and 1B Kevin Maas from Triple-A Indianapolis; 1B Tim Belk, IF Eric Owens, SS Pokey Reese and OF Chad Mottola from Double-A Chattanooga; and P Chad Fox from Single-A Winston-Salem.

Colorado Rockies -- Named Tony Siegle assistant GM. Promoted Dick Balderson, director of player development, to VP in charge of player personnel. Extended the contract of scouting director Pat Daugherty through 1996.

Kansas City Royals -- Rehired coach Jamie Quirk. Named Mitchell Page first base coach.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Claimed OF Gary Mota off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.

NBA -- Announced that Washington Bullets vice president Wes Unseld has been named lead analyst for NBA Radio.

Cleveland Cavaliers -- Signed G-F Tony Campbell, who averaged 7.1 points in 22 games with the New York Knicks and 9.7 points in 41 games with the Dallas Mavericks. Waived G Mike Iuzzolino, G Gary Collier and F Melvin Simon.

Houston Rockets -- Waived F Albert Burditt and former Bullets G Larry Robinson.

Indiana Pacers -- Released F Joe Wolf and F-C Spencer Dunkley. Placed G Damon Bailey and F-C Scott Haskin on the injured list.

Miami Heat -- Waived G Steve Henson, G Kevin Pritchard and F Chucky Brown.

Milwaukee Bucks -- Called in foul-shooting consultant Andy Enfield, who shot an NCAA-record 92.5 percent while at Johns Hopkins 1988-1991. Milwaukee was 12-for-31 at the line Sunday.

Phoenix Suns -- Waived F Malcolm Mackey, a 1993 first-round draft choice, and G Anthony Goldwire.

Portland Trail Blazers -- Waived G Jaren Jackson and F Kevin Thompson.

The following made the second team: UMBC F Kasy Kruger (Gaithersburg), UMBC M Laura Dvorak, UMBC sweeper Jana Dye (Middletown), UMBC D Shannon Bagrosky (Howard), Towson F Courtney McClelland (Dulaney), Towson M Amy Pfaff and Towson M Michelle Cope (Severna Park). ECAC -- Named Navy DB Gervy Alota Division I-A Rookie of the Week after he made six tackles and intercepted a pass in a 58-21 loss to Notre Dame. Named Navy QB Jim Kubiak to the weekly honor roll after he completed 15 of 33 passes for 122 yards.

Ohio University -- Fired football coach Tom Lichtenberg and announced that he will be assigned to other duties after the season. Ohio is 0-8 with three games left this year and 8-42-2 since he began coaching the Bobcats.

Thomas More -- Suspended WR Bryson Burnam from the football team indefinitely for violating team rules.

Wilmington College -- Football coach Mike Wallace reinstated most of the 40 players he suspended Friday for violating the team's ban on alcohol consumption.

New Orleans Saints -- Signed DL Lance Teichelman and S Willie Nelson to the practice squad.

The Golf Channel -- Named Gary R. Stevenson CEO. Announced Jan. 17 as its launch date.
