Salisbury St. falls in CAC title game

Chris Blelloch had a goal and an assist yesterday to lead Mary Washington (16-3-1) to a 3-1, double-overtime victory over host Salisbury State (12-3-3) in the championship of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.

The game was suspended with 10:27 remaining after two Salisbury State players were issued red cards. The Sea Gulls played a man down from the 63rd minute because of Ousman Auber's second yellow card.

Gus Carmona-Ernst scored the game-winner at 95:03. Mary Washington has won the past four conference titles.

* Maryland 1, Robert Morris 0: Doug Smith scored with less than one minute remaining, as Maryland (12-4-1) beat Robert Morris (12-6-1).

* UMBC 4, Cal-Irvine 2: Bryan Bugarin (Calvert Hall) and Teddy Lawler (Oakland Mills) each had a goal and an assist to help UMBC (9-8-1) over California-Irvine (11-8) in the UNLV Rebel Invitational. The Retrievers were 2-0 in the tourney.

* Navy 3, Bucknell 1: Shawn Moyer scored the game-winner at the 69-minute mark to lead Navy (9-5-1) over host Bucknell (3-3-1).
