Glen Burnie to stage events for Halloween

Several Halloween events have been planned for youngsters today and tomorrow in Glen Burnie.

* The Annual Halloween Safety Party in downtown Glen Burnie will begin at 1 p.m. today at Crain Highway and Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.

Activities include entertainment, crafts and a costume parade at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to children in age groups up to 12 years old. Participants must sign in before the parade at the registration tables behind the Arundel Center North. Categories include prettiest, most original and scariest and ugliest.

In the event of inclement weather, the party will be moved inside the municipal parking garage at Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard and M Street.

* Trick or treating and a puppet show are scheduled at Marley Station tomorrow. The Beale Street Puppets will perform a musical review called "Dig Those Dinosaurs" at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Children can trick or treat throughout the mall between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the shops posting orange and black balloons.

* Harundale Mall will have a magic show at 5:30 p.m., a costume parade at 6 p.m. and trick or treating from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.

* North Arundel Nursing and Convalescent Center will stage a Safe Trick or Treat Day tomorrow for children 12 years of age and under at the nursing home, 313 Hospital Drive, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Information: 761-1222.
