South River surprises No. 13 Broadneck, 24-0

Russell Tongue carried 18 times for 86 yards to lead host South River (4-4) to a 24-0 upset of No. 13 Broadneck (5-2) last night.

Tongue capped off a great defensive effort for the Seahawks with a 102-yard interception return in the third quarter. He also recovered a fumble. The senior had 270 total yards of offense.

The Seahawks' leading tackler, linebacker Bobby Malloy, had two sacks to lead a defense that held Broadneck to 45 yards rushing.

Dunbar 46, Northwestern 0

Reggie Boyce rushed seven times for 175 yards and four touchdowns to pace No. 2 Dunbar (7-0) past visiting Northwestern (0-8).

Anthony Wiggins completed five of nine passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

McDonogh 35, St. Mary's 14

Bobby Sabelhaus completed 14 of 18 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 6 McDonogh (6-2) over host St. Mary's (4-4).

He threw two touchdown passes to Dwayne Stukes, and one each to Jeff Miyamoto and Dennis Badham.

Howard 28, Hammond 7

Quarterback DaLawn Parrish rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown on nine attempts and passed for another score in No. 7 Howard's (7-1) win over Hammond (3-5).

Severn 32, Boys' Latin 12

John Vereen scored four touchdowns and rushed for 239 yards on 17 carries as No. 11 Severn (7-1) rolled over host Boys' Latin (2-6).

Mike Hardy and Fred Macaraeg led Severn with eight tackles a piece.

Arundel 29, Old Mill 7

Casey Trout rushed 13 times for 178 yards and four touchdowns to lead host Arundel (6-2) past Old Mill (2-6).

C.M. Wright 33, John Carroll 6

Duane Fischer rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries, passed for a touchdown and intercepted two passes as No. 12 C. Milton Wright (7-1) defeated John Carroll (2-6).

Southern-AA 22, Northeast 7

Running back Bobby Procopio rushed 21 times for 148-yards and two touchdowns to lead visiting Southern-AA (5-3) past Northeast (2-6). Ron Holland also added a seven yard touchdown run and finished the game with 20 carries for 182-

yards.

St. Paul's 7, Gibbons 6

Tucker Radebaugh rushed 25 times for 165 yards and one touchdown to lift host St. Paul's (6-2) over Cardinal Gibbons (2-5).

Edmondson 12, Carver 8

Junior tailback Corey Brown rushed for 106 yards including a 50-yard touchdown run with less than a minute to play in the first HTC half to give visiting Edmondson (6-2) a 12-8 victory over Carver (2-6). Both teams were scoreless in the second half.

Bel Air 22, Edgewood 12

Romain Russell rushed for 81 yards on 11 carries to lift Bel Air (5-3) past host Edgewood (5-3). Bel Air rushed for 235 yards and limited Edgewood to 9 yards passing.

Lake Clifton 32, Douglass 0

Kenneth Williams rushed for 140 yards on 13 carries with one touchdown to lead visiting Lake Clifton (5-3) past Douglass (0-8).

Curley 26, Spalding 7

Donald Campbell rushed 13 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns in Curley's (5-3) victory over Spalding (2-6).

Forest Park 24, Southern-B 14

Aaron Thompson had 15 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns as Forest Park (4-3) beat host Southern-B (1-6).

N. Harford 19, Fallston 13

Kevin Bandy caught a 12-yard pass from Tom Staab as host North Harford (1-7) beat Fallston (4-4) in double overtime. The Hawks were 7-for-10 on fourth down conversions.

Catonsville 44, Ches.-BC 14

Steve Phipps ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns to push Catonsville (4-3) over Chesapeake-BC (3-4) at Dundalk Community College. Rhasann Harcum also rushed for 103 yards for the Comets, who had a total of 331 yards rushing.

Mervo 6, Walbrook 0

Duncan Anderson rushed for 117 yards as host Mervo (2-6) beat Walbrook (2-6).

Riverdale B. 38, Ow. Mills 26

Sean Myles scored twice and Paul Krome passed for two touchdowns but host Owings Mills (2-6) never overcame a 30-14 halftime deficit.
