G. Joseph Hudert


G. Joseph Hudert, a retired engineer, died Wednesday of pneumonia at Meridian Nursing Center-Perring Parkway. The Woodbrook Village resident was 86.

He retired in 1976 after 38 years with the J.E. Greiner Co. Projects he worked on included the Chesapeake Bay, Delaware River and Francis Scott Key bridges and the Jones Falls Expressway.

The Baltimore native graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in 1928 and the Johns Hopkins University in 1931.

His wife, the former Elizabeth Mahler, whom he married in 1931, died in 1991.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 5502 York Road, Govans.

He is survived by a son, Joseph F. Hudert of Glen Burnie; two daughters, Sylvia H. Brooks of Timonium and Teresa H. Wieczorek of Towson; two sisters, Anna R. Mueller of Baltimore and Mary Elizabeth Grochmal of Catonsville; and 10 grandchildren.
