Woman, son charged after drug raid

A 45-year-old woman and her son were arrested on drug charges after police raided an Owen Brown home Wednesday '' night, police said.

Rosemary Swan Lee of the 7100 block of Winter Rose Path was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Her son, William David Lee, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and fireworks.

L Both were released early yesterday on personal recognizance.

A 15-year-old girl was also taken into custody and was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possession of tobacco by a minor and theft of Washington, D.C., police uniform shirts from a dry cleaner's.

At 10:50 p.m. officers entered the home in the 7100 block of Winter Rose Path with a search and seizure warrant. They said they found pipes, a vial of crack cocaine, several plastic bags of marijuana and two police uniform shirts recently reported stolen from a dry-cleaning store.

Grants to assist projects initiated by students

The Columbia Council has established a grant program of $1,000 to fund community service projects initiated by high school students who live on Columbia Association-assessed property.

Up to $250 will be awarded to each project meeting the community service criteria established by the Columbia Council.

Applications and a copy of the criteria are available at high schools, village centers, the Columbia Association at 10221 Wincopin Circle and the Members Service Center at The Mall in Columbia. Applications must be submitted by Monday.
