Ten minutes before halftime, Tricia Taliaferro picked up a loose ball and drilled a 20-yard shot into the net. Freshman Michelle Deville scored shortly thereafter after a long pass from Terri Rich.

Isabell Fennell needed to make only one save to shut out Indiana (8-7). The Terps (7-6-2) play Florida International -- which lost, 5-1, to George Mason -- in the second round of the round-robin tournament tomorrow.
