After a short time, the truck pulled away, police said. Officer Frederick Plitt followed the truck to Pioneer Drive and Jacobs Road. There, he checked the passengers and searched the truck.

Richard Paul Sigley, 31, of the 300 block of Baltimore Ave., Odenton, was charged with possession of cocaine after police found two bags of crack cocaine on a seat, police said.

Man with shotgun robs convenience store

A man armed with a sawed-off shotgun robbed a High's store in the 1200 block of southbound Route 3 in Crofton Saturday NTC night and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, county police said yesterday.

The man walked into the store in the Route 3 Plaza just before 9 p.m. wearing a stocking mask and hockey mask over his face. When he pulled a shotgun, one customer hid in the back of the store behind some shelves. The robber ordered other customers who came in afterward to lie on the floor and demanded money from the clerk, police said.

The clerk gave the bandit money, cigarettes and lottery tickets. The robber fled on foot, running north on Route 3, police said.
