Spirit signs ex-Oakland Mills star

The Spirit signed former Oakland Mills High star Chris Love, increasing its roster to 16 players. Love led Oakland Mills to the 1988 state championship, was named a Parade High School All-American and went on to start four years at the University of Hartford.

"Chris is a tough, hard-nosed player," said coach Dave MacWil liams as he prepared the Spirit for Friday's 7:35 p.m. opener against the Chicago Power at the Baltimore Arena.

Tickets remain for the opener, priced at $8, $10, $13 and $15. The first 2,000 children to enter the Arena on Friday will receive a

free NPSL soccer ball. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
