Two liquor stores cited for selling to a minor

October 18, 1994

Two Laurel liquor stores were cited last week for selling alcohol to an underage police intern, county police said.

Citations were issued to Island Liquors, in the 10000 block of Washington Blvd., and Whiskey Bottom Liquors, in the 9100 block of Whiskey Bottom Road.

Police also cited the cashiers who sold the alcohol, Sandra Irene Harryman, 29, and Evelyn Sylvia Weller, 51.

Police have cited nine stores and cashiers this year, said Sgt. Steven Keller, Howard County police spokesman.

Cashiers who are cited may be fined up to $1,000 and face up to two years in jail. The owners of liquor stores that are cited must appear before the county Liquor Board and could have their licenses suspended, Sergeant Keller said.
