Charles A. Frye, 48, a professor of African philosophy and humanities at Southern University in New Orleans and director of the university's Center for African and African-American Studies, died Saturday of lymphoma in New Orleans.

Iris Adrian, 81, an actress who appeared in scores of films from the 1930s and '40s, died on Sept. 17 at her home in Hollywood of complications from injuries in the Northridge, Calif., earthquake in January.

James P. Reichmann, 90, a former chairman of the Chicago Board of Trade, died Sunday. He began working at the Board of Trade in 1926 and became chairman in the early 1960s.
