A Millers teen-ager, who collected comic books and worked on his father's horse farm, died Wednesday night when he was thrown from his truck and it rolled over on him.

Ryan James LaVey, 17, who lived in the 5000 block of Grave Run Road, was pronounced dead at the site of the accident on Wentz Road near Stoney Lane about 8:30 p.m.

State police said the LaVey youth was driving a 1987 Toyota pickup west on Wentz Road when the truck ran onto the right shoulder. The truck skidded sideways across the center line of the road, off the left side and rolled over, ejecting the driver, police said.

Investigators said two passengers in the truck received minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Tfc. Allen Albaugh identified the passengers as Sarah Elizabeth Null, 15, of the 4600 block of Band Hall Hill Road, and Robert Michael Vecera, 16, of the 700 block of Lake Drive.

The trooper said both suffered minor bumps and bruises. He reported the cause of the crash as driver error.

Ryan James LaVey attended North Carroll High School, according to his father, Richard J. LaVey.
