2 men arrested on gambling charges

October 14, 1994

Two Glen Burnie men were arrested on gambling charges for allegedly shooting dice Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of Warfield Road Tuesday afternoon, and county police seized $1,000, authorities said yesterday.

Northern District Officer Michael Barclay received an anonymous tip shortly before 2 p.m. that two men were shooting dice in the driveway of a house on Warfield Road. When he drove to the address, he saw two men standing in the driveway. One of them had just thrown a pair of dice on the ground where a pile of money lay between the two men, police said.

Officer Barclay got out of his car and told the men they were under arrest.

He handcuffed one immediately but the other ran.

Police said Officer Barclay recovered $10 and the dice from the driveway, and $145 on the suspect.

Two other officers chased the man who ran off.

That man was captured at a house in the 6900 block of Flamingo Drive, police said.

Officers found $845 on him, police said.

Brock Ellington Tucker, 19, of the 200 block of Warfield Road and Michael Paul Bowers, 20, of the 400 block of Hiddenbrook Drive were charged with illegal gambling, police said.
