2 masked bandits rob High's store

Two men wearing ski masks robbed a High's store in the 700 block of Church St. in Brooklyn Park Sunday night and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The men walked into the store shortly after 10:30 p.m. One went behind the counter and indicated he had a weapon, the store clerk told police.

The man forced the clerk to open the register, then took the money. Both men then ran off. Police K-9 units searched the area but did not find the suspects.

3 youths arrested in firing of gunshots

County police arrested three juveniles Friday morning and charged one of them as an adult after someone fired gunshots into a Brooklyn Park home, authorities said.

Northern District officers went to a Brooklyn Park home around 3 a.m. to investigate a report of shots fired. Robert A. McCurdy, 42, who owned the house, told police the shots shattered his son's bedroom window.

Mr. McCurdy also told police his daughter's ex-boyfriend had threatened the family. Officers went to the young man's house and arrested him and two other youths. A fully loaded .22-caliber handgun and a .410-gauge shotgun were recovered, police said.

Richard Lee Fain, 16, of the 100 block of Mountain Road in Linthicum was charged as an adult with reckless endangerment, possession of a handgun, malicious destruction and discharging firearm within 100 yards of a residence. Police identified the youth as the ex-boyfriend of Mr. McCurdy's daughter.

A 14-year-old Linthicum youth and a 15-year-old Arnold youth are facing the same charges, police said.
