* THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a 21-year-old man who attempted to leave the Rite-Aid pharmacy in the 3100 block of Greenmount Ave. Sunday without paying for cigarettes and a lighter.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Shortly after the occupant of a house in the 100 block of Taplow Road arrived home Sunday and placed her purse on a table, an intruder stole it. The purse contained credit cards, cash and other items.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Thomas Ave. was standing in the 5000 block of The Alameda Saturday when a gunman got out of a late-model Oldsmobile and ordered him into the car. The victim was robbed of more than $100, a coat and his athletic shoes, all valued at nearly $400, then forced out.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A Browning shotgun valued at $400 and two boxes of shotgun shells were stolen over the weekend from a 1985 Toyota parked in the 3400 block of Greenmount Ave.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A warrant was to be issued for a man who stole cookies and candy Saturday from the gift shop at Union Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of E. University Parkway.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 4700 block of Wrenwood Ave. was in the 500 block of Sheridan Ave. Saturday when he was knocked to the ground by a man who stole a money order for $150.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A set of golf clubs valued at more than $200, stereo equipment worth more than $300 and a pair of sunglasses valued at $75 were stolen from a car parked in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. over the weekend.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed the Texaco service station in the 5500 block of Falls Road of $80 Sunday.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of N. Calvert St. was in the 2600 block of Hunter St. Sunday when a gunman robbed him of $300.


* BURGLARY: Parkville Precinct -- A meat slicer, liquor and wine were stolen Sunday from the storage shed at Bear Brothers Caterers in the 8100 block of Harford Road.

* BURGLARY: Towson Precinct -- A $12,000 wedding ring and a ring valued at $500 were stolen from a house in the 1800 block of W. Joppa Road over the weekend.

* ROBBERY: Garrison Precinct -- A 20-year-old resident of the first block of Bitterroot Court in Owings Mills was walking near his home Sunday when a gunman robbed him of a checkbook, cash and jewelry, all valued at more than $400.
