Aberdeen rolls to 5-0 No. 3 McDonogh wins

Terrance Washington completed two touchdown passes to lead No. 12 Aberdeen (5-0) past host John Carroll, 17-6, yesterday. The Patriots fell to 1-4.

McDonogh 21, Mt. St. Joe 18

Bobby Sabelhaus passed for 158 yards and two second-half touchdowns to lead host and No. 3 McDonogh (4-1, 1-0) over No. 9 Mount St. Joseph (4-1, 0-1) in a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association game.

The Eagles took their first lead at 14-10 on Sabelhaus' 39-yard pass to Jason Taylor with 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Dwayne Stukes rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries for McDonogh. Je'Von Norris ran for 123 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries to lead the Gaels.

Gilman 35, St. Mary's 8

R.C. Kauffman rushed for 139 yards and David Biddison added 128 yards, leading No. 6 Gilman (3-1) past visiting and No. 8 St. Mary's (4-1). Kauffman and Biddison each scored two touchdowns as the Greyhounds totaled 362 yards in offense.

Severn 48, Spalding 6


John Vereen rushed 10 times for 191 yards and four touchdowns as No. 11 Severn (4-1) defeated Spalding (2-3).

Severn totaled 415 offensive yards.

Broadneck 20, Queen Anne's 0

Kevin Healy threw two touchdown passes, leading Broadneck (3-1) past visiting Queen Anne's (0-5). Healy threw a 25-yard pass to Jason Smith in the first quarter and a 56-yard pass to Casan Sattari in the third.

Loyola 20, Malvern Prep (Pa.) 15

Scott Brown rushed for 151 yards, including a 1-yard scoring run with 24 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Loyola (2-1) over host Malvern Prep.

Owings Mills 21, Pikesville 0

Akida Perkins had 16 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown as visiting Owings Mills (2-3) shut out Pikesville (2-3). Paul Krome went 5-for-8 for 51 yards and one touchdown. Sean Myles made two catches for 28 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown reception.

Overlea 36, Catonsville 24

105 yards, leading visiting Overlea (3-2) past Catonsville (1-3). Holley and Forney each scored two touchdowns as the Falcons scored 22 points in the final quarter.

Glenelg 31, Mount Hebron 6

Jeremy Lignelli scored two touchdowns, leading Glenelg (2-3) over visiting Mount Hebron (0-5). Sean Lookingbill completed 8-of-14 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown.

Woodlawn 12, Parkville 0

Keion Carpenter threw for a touchdown and ran for another, leading Woodlawn (4-1) past Parkville (0-5).
