Tasman Motorsports -- Announced that 1994 Indy Lights Rookie of the Year Andre Ribeiro will be the IndyCar driver for team owner Steve Horne in 1995.

Baseball

Orioles -- Asked waivers on 3B Chris Sabo and P Tom Bolton. When waivers expire next week, the players can accept minor-league assignments or declare themselves free agents.

California Angels -- Waived P John Dopson (Finksburg). Named Bert Blyleven pitching coach of Single-A Cedar Rapids.

Cincinnati Reds -- Notified P Tom Browning, P Rob Dibble and IF Tony Fernandez that the club is contemplating their outright assignment to the minor leagues. They would automatically become free agents by refusing to accept the assignment.

Colorado Rockies -- Retained pitching coach Larry Bearnarth, bench coach Don Zimmer and third base coach Ron Hassey. Named Art Howe first base coach and Rick Matthews bullpen coach. Named Gene Glynn minor-league coordinator.

Announced that they will not retain bullpen coach Bill Plummer. Announced that the nickname of the Single-A Portland, Ore., club will be changed to Rockies.

Kansas City Royals -- Named Bob Boone manager and signed him to a two-year contract through the 1996 season.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Announced that P Jim Gott has chosen free agency instead of reporting to Triple-A.

New York Yankees -- Exercised a $300,000 option on SS Kevin Elster (0-for-20 in 1994) and activated him from the DL to add him to their 40-man roster.

Basketball

Atlanta Hawks -- Signed G Sergei Bazarevich to a one-year contract.

Boston Celtics -- Signed F Rick Fox to a deal reportedly worth $10.87 million over six years. Agreed to a free-agent contract with C David Dean. Announced that it is trying to sign F Dino Radja to a long-term deal.Dallas Mavericks -- Signed C Roy Tarpley for six years and G Morlon Wiley for one.

Indiana Pacers -- Signed former Washington Bullets F John Williams, who was suspended for three months last season by the Los Angeles Clippers because of a weight problem.

Los Angeles Clippers -- Signed C Elmore Spencer to a two-year contract extension through the 1996-97 season.

Miami Heat -- Signed G-F Kevin Gamble and C Brad Lohaus, both free agents.Milwaukee Bucks -- Signed free-agent F Johnny Newman to a one-year contract.Orlando Magic -- Signed G Greg Grant and G Stacey Poole.

Philadelphia 76ers -- Signed F Clarence Weatherspoon to a multi-year contract and F Sharone Wright and G B. J. Tyler. Signed free-agent G Lloyd Daniels.

Portland Trail Blazers -- Signed G Jaren Jackson, G Elmer Bennett, F Shawnelle Scott and F Kevin Thompson for one year.

Sacramento Kings -- Signed F Michael Smith, F Trevor Wilson, C Mike Peplowski and former Bullets G LaBradford Smith. Invited G Jimmy Oliver to training camp. Renounced the rights to Alex Holcombe.
