IndyCar -- Eddie Cheever will drive full time for owner A. J. Foyt next year.

NASCAR -- Sterling Marlin won't compete on the Busch Grand National circuit next year.

Baseball

California Angels -- Waived ex-Orioles 2B Harold Reynolds. Activated P John Dopson (Finksburg), P Paul Swingle, P Ken Patterson and C Andy Allanson from the DL. Designated Swingle for assignment. Announced that seven coaches have accepted invitations for the 1995 season: bench coach Bobby Knoop, hitting instructor Rod Carew, pitching coach Chuck Hernandez, first base coach Joe Maddon and part-time outfield coach Sam Suplizio will return and that third base coach Rick Burleson (an ex-Oriole) and bullpen coach Bill Lachemann will join the staff.

Chicago Cubs Reached working agreements with Double-A Orlando and Single-A Rockford. Announced that they are dropping their affiliation with the Rookie-level Huntington for financial reasons.

Colorado Rockies -- Named Art Howe batting coach and first base coach.

Florida Marlins -- Assigned the contracts of OF Matias Carrillo and IF Tim Clark outright to Triple-A Edmonton. Announced that Carrillo refused his assignment and chose to become a free agent.

Kansas City Royals -- Ex-Orioles P Bob Milacki chose free agency after the club failed to restore him to its 40-man roster.

Milwaukee Brewers -- C Rick Wrona chose free agency after the club failed to restore him to its 40-man roster.

Minnesota Twins -- Assigned the contract of P Carl Willis outright to the minor leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Assigned the contract of IF Junior Noboa outright to the minor leagues.

St. Louis Cardinals -- P Willie Smith chose free agency after the club failed to restore him to its 40-man roster.

Toronto Blue Jays -- P Randy St. Claire chose free agency after the club failed to restore him to its 40-man roster.

Basketball

Cleveland Cavaliers -- Added the following free agents: C Greg Dreiling, F Marcus Liberty, F Bill Edwards, G Mike Iuzzolino and ex-Washington Bullets G Steve Coulter.

Golden State Warriors -- Signed F Bob McCann to a one-year contract.

Los Angeles Clippers -- Signed C Matt Fish, C Robert Werdann and G Stephen Thompson.

Minnesota Timberwolves -- Signed G Howard Eisley, second-round draft pick.

New York Knicks -- Signed F Monty Williams, first-round draft pick, to a multi-year contract.

Orlando Magic -- Signed C Geert Hammink and C-F Keith Tower, restricted free agents.

Philadelphia 76ers -- Sign first-round picks Sharone Wright and B. J. Tyler and second-round pick Derrick Alston. Extended training camp invitations to C James Donaldson and G-F Grant Gondrezick.

Portland Trail Blazers -- Signed G Aaron McKie to a six-year contract.

Clemson -- Suspended men's soccer coach I. M. Ibrahim for four games.

Fairfield -- Named Eugene Doris AD, effective Nov. 1.

George Mason -- Named Tom O'Connor AD and agreed to terms with him on a five-year contract.

Mount St. Mary's -- Named J. Clifford Warren men's assistant basketball coach. Warren, sixth on the school's all-time assist list, was a graduate assistant from 1991 to 1993, played for the semipro Frederick Flyers last season and then joined UMES as an assistant for four months.

New Mexico State -- Dismissed junior basketball G Lance Jackson for a violation of team policy.

St. Francis, Pa. -- Dismissed senior basketball G Bryan Gandee for breaking team rules.

Vanderbilt -- Suspended football players Jamie Duncan and DeReal Finklin until a probe is completed regarding possible violations of university rules.

Western Maryland -- Named John Lowe, a national Greco-Roman champion in 1993, wrestling coach; Lowe was assistant coach at Oakland Mills last season and also coached at his alma mater, St. Michaels. Announced that Erin Kelly was named Centennial Conference women's soccer Player of the Week.

Football

Miami Dolphins -- Signed LB Brant Boyer from their practice squad. Waived LB Jesse Solomon. Signed LB Dewayne Dotson to the practice squad.

New York Giants -- Placed LB Andre Powell on IR. Signed LB Jeff Mills.

New York Jets -- Signed TE Paul Burke to the practice squad. Released G Terrence Wisdom.

CFLs -- Waived SB Joe Washington and WR Reggie Perry.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats -- Added SB Frank Marof to the roster.

Las Vegas Posse -- Added DT Keith Embray to the roster. Activated OT Tom Backes from the injured list. Transferred WR Tamarick Vanover from the suspended list to the reserve list. Placed G Ron Shipley on the reserve list.

Hockey

Hartford Whalers -- D Jim Agnew retired, ending a comeback attempt from an injury to his left knee in 1993 that required reconstructive surgery.

New York Islanders -- Named Darcy Regier assistant to the GM and director of player personnel; Gerry Ehman assistant to the GM; Bert Marshall director of scouting; and Earl Ingarfield assistant to director of scouting.

San Jose Sharks -- Assigned RW Todd Holt to IHL Kansas City.

Toronto Maple Leafs -- Extended the contract of GM Cliff Fletcher through June 30, 1999.

Washington Capitals -- Sent G Byron Dafoe to IHL Phoenix.

Soccer

Cleveland Crunch -- Signed M Tommy Tanner to a three-year contract.

Milwaukee Rampage (USISL) -- Named Jim Harwood director of operations.
