Attendant sits down, ducks a holdup

October 06, 1994

A man who tried to rob a Mobil gas station yesterday morning was foiled when the attendant locked the outside cash drawer and sat on the floor until he left, county police said.

The man walked up to the outside service window of the station in the 7900 block of Crain Highway shortly after 12:30 a.m. Holding his hand in his shirt as though he had a gun, the man ordered the attendant to put money through the cash window, police said.

But the robber left without any money after the attendant locked the cash drawer and sat on the floor, police said.

Man seriously injured in collision with van

A Glen Burnie man remained in serious condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after a collision between his station wagon and a van that also injured his passenger, county police said.

Scott Edward Peacock, 31, of the 300 block of Oak Manor Drive was driving south on Ritchie Highway Tuesday afternoon when his 1983 Toyota station wagon collided with a northbound 1994 Chevrolet van turning across the traffic lanes onto Eighth Avenue, police said.

A passenger in the station wagon, Diana Brigley, 21, of the Oak DTC Manor Drive address was released from the trauma center yesterday.

Police said charges were pending against the driver of the van, Gregory John Wisner, 30, of the 7500 block of Old Stage Road, who was not injured.
