Woman charged with threatening another with gun

October 04, 1994

A Bowie woman was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly barging into a home in the 7800 block of New Freetown Road and threatening to shoot a woman who lives at the address, county police said.

The incident began shortly after midnight when a woman knocked on the door of the house.

The woman, who asked to speak to Roger Anthony Barnes, 43, forced her way in at gunpoint when she was told Mr. Barnes wasn't at the home, police said.

The woman went downstairs, kicked open the basement door, found Mr. Barnes with another woman and threatened to kill her, police said. The two women struggled until Mr. Barnes separated them. He managed to get the woman with the gun out of the house.

Michelle J. Henson, 37, of the 13000 block of Fifth St. was charged with assault with intent to murder, felony breaking and entering, assault and battery and a handgun violation, police said.

Mr. Barnes, who has the same address as Ms. Henson, was charged with handgun possession because Ms. Henson allegedly gave him the gun she used as officers arrived on the scene, police said.
