Two men were charged with attempted murder after they shot at others in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn in the 8800 block of Washington Blvd. in Jessup early Saturday, authorities said.

Howard County police officers responding to a report of disorderly conduct about 1:15 a.m. saw a crowd of about 30 people and heard several shots. Two men threw their guns to the ground when officers approached, police said.

Two people at the scene said the two men fired shots at them during a dispute, according to officers, who found two loaded guns nearby.

Nathan Heywood Hill, 41, and Aaron Laman Skinner, 22, addresses unknown, were charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment and assault. Mr. Skinner was released on personal recognizance, and Mr. Hill was being held in lieu of $5,000 bond yesterday at the Howard County Detention Center.
